Update #13 (Week 14)

Last week, I focused on creating my capstone poster draft for the capstone showcase. This wound up being more difficult than I had initially anticipated it would be. Since I had never attended a capstone showcase, I used reference photos from previous years to see how the poster was supposed to be made, both in style and content.

The first thing I had to choose was the color of the poster. The options that the school provides are red, orange, gray, green, teal, blue, and purple. I decided to choose the classic school color, red. After choosing the color of the poster, I had to decide which categories I wanted to add to my posters. Initially, my choices were The Game, The Gameplay, The Software, The Development, Next Steps, My Inspirations, Acknowledgements, and Further Information.

After submitting my poster draft, I received feedback from my capstone advisor, Dr. Kaltman, and went over his recommendations. I edited my poster to be more in line with what he described which included changing the way I thought of the poster in general, the wording in various sections, and the section allocation. I wound up having the categories The Game, The Gameplay, The Software, My Inspiration, Early Progression and Steps, The Development, Acknowledgements, and Further Information.

Overall, I really enjoyed the process of making my capstone poster. It forced me to look into my project in different ways and write about it in ways that would showcase it to others.

Below is a photo of my final capstone poster design.
